los andes

though headlines in the free press that circulates around the city and my classrooms would suggest that santiago is falling apart due to egregious smog conditions, the past few weeks have left the neighboring range of andes unusually clear and stunning. after any sort of heavy rainfall they're usually peppered with a fair amount of snow and the rain also clears out the smog and reminds you that yes, santiago de chile is in fact surrounded by beast bastard mountains. makes for pleasant walks and pretty sunsets for real.

domino's exists here. this one is down the way from my house. 2 family sized 3-topping pizzas deliver for a whopping $40 US. strangely enough, it tastes significantly better than what's sold in the states (first hand knowledge). heretofore, this phenomena does not apply to mcdonald's (first hand knowledge), pizza hut, or kentucky fried chicken (both second hand knowledge). i'll get back to you on burger king, or not.
