this isn't the first time i've run into repackaged film titles in foreign lands. one that sticks out was "sjakie en de chocolade fabriek" in amsterdam. that of course is charlie in the chocolate factory. i can totally handle and understand the charlie --> sjakie transition. others, not so much.so "there will be blood" would be "habra sangre," but whoever is in charge of marketing this film in latin america is under the impression that a faithful translation would not play, hence: "petroleo sangrieto" or "bloody oil." i say its an erroneous marketing decision, but when i attempted to speak to the cinema's management, they said i'd better watch out or they would drink my milkshake.
