slip sliding away
chileans love polished floors. this is great for me, awful for others. back in canada, winter months (if you were of age - somewhere around 6-20 years old) were spent sliding across sidewalks, streets, or iced over patches of grass. wherever you may have been going, it was a definite possibility that you could take a couple fast paces and then slide at least 40% of the way. in chile, if you're inside a building (the hostel, our school, the museum), chances are - you can slide yourself around. who needs walking anyway? that being said, i've seen at least 4 people eat shit. one of them was in our group and apparently, has quite a bruise on her bottom.
seriously, they polish a lot here. yesterday, the floors at our DuocUC training site were clearly polished. we were hackysacking on a break and sliding left and right. and yet, right after our lunch break the powers that be were doing a serious buffer job on the already luminous floors. further, apparently chileans hate carpet. no problems there.
this picture is of me sliding around the museo de bellas artes in santiago. non-stop slip sliding the day. me gusta. more pictures have been added to the flick.
