erwin hadn't cut the lawn for 3 or 4 months (winter) and certainly wasn't in the mood during the past weeks so i gave it the old college try last friday. the only tool available to cut grass in our house are the trusted garden shears. regrettably, said garden shears were dull and the grass had doubled over in growth. the task took about four hours and my legs have yet to forget the love i showed them. sometimes when teaching in a fully functional vocational school where students are paying for classes you feel like your volunteer title may be a misnomer; however, when working with the tools championed by your ancestors while being fully aware that modern advancements have been made that sentiment of uncertainty truly ceases to trouble the mind. in the last throes of the scissor suck a neighbor came over and offered me her weed whacker. i could have kissed her.

ReplyDeleteLong time, no talk bud. Hope all is well.
I bumped into Mike Prouse a few hours ago and in a round-a-bout way it led me here.
Your blog is my newfound addiction. Be safe man.
